Lumera
Residential

A system that fits your house, not a template.

We design for the roof you have and the way you actually use electricity. That means proper structural checks, honest shading modelling, and a size that pays back — not the biggest we could fit.

Whats included

Everything from first survey to final sign-off.

Structural survey

Roof condition, rafter spacing, load calculation and shading — before we quote firm numbers.

System design

Panel layout, DC string plan, inverter and battery sizing, tied to your half-hourly consumption if we can get it.

Install & scaffolding

Our own installers, scaffolding coordinated by us, typically 2–4 days on site for a standard home.

Battery & EV integration

Battery storage sized against actual use. EV charger tie-in with load management if you have one.

Commissioning pack

G98/G99 sign-off, test results, monitoring set up on your phone, and the MCS certificate from your installation partner for SEG.

Aftercare

Five-year workmanship warranty, remote monitoring alerts, and a real person to call if anything looks off.

How we size a home system

Bigger isn't always better.

A system that overshoots your daytime demand exports a lot of energy at the SEG rate — worth having, but rarely worth borrowing more to install.

Adding storage

A battery lifts self-use from roughly a third to three-quarters.

For most households on a standard tariff, a 5–10 kWh battery is the sweet spot. We'll model both cases and show you the numbers side-by-side.

0% VAT

0% VAT on residential solar, battery storage and heat-pump installs until 31 March 2027 (HMRC VAT Notice 708/6) — the price we quote is the price you pay.

Getting paid for surplus

The Smart Export Guarantee.

The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) obliges larger electricity suppliers to pay you for surplus generation you send back to the grid, metered half-hourly.

  • An MCS-certified installation (or equivalent) — your MCS-certified installation partner issues the certificate at handover.
  • An export-capable smart meter, so your supplier can read what you send back half-hourly.
  • A SEG tariff with a licensed supplier — you can choose any SEG supplier, not just your import one.

Fixed SEG rates in 2026 sit roughly between 12p and 16.5p/kWh. Time-of-use export tariffs pay more during peak evening periods, which is where a battery earns its keep.

Indicative 2026 rates — always check the current terms with your chosen supplier.

Planning permission

Most homes qualify for permitted development — and we handle the planning conversation for listed buildings and conservation areas.

Panels must not protrude more than 200mm from the roof plane or sit above the highest part of the roof. Listed buildings, conservation areas and some new-build estates carry extra conditions; we check the constraints at survey and deal with the council on your behalf where consent is needed.

What it costs

One fixed price, agreed after the survey.

No VAT to add, no day-rate surprises, and no charge for the survey itself. If the roof turns out not to suit a system, we tell you and there's nothing to pay.

EV charging · solar-aware charge point
Also fitted by us

EV charging.

A charger wired into your solar and battery lets the car soak up surplus generation instead of exporting it at the SEG rate.

Solar-aware charging

Charge from surplus generation only, or top up from the grid on a cheap overnight rate — your choice, per session.

Load management

We check your main fuse and fit load curtailment where needed, so the charger and the house never trip the supply.

OZEV-grade installs

7kW single-phase or 22kW three-phase units, Part P certified and notified to your DNO under EREC G100 where applicable.

Tidy routing

Cable runs planned at survey — clipped, ducted or buried, agreed with you before anyone drills anything.

Also fitted by us

Heat pumps.

An air-source heat pump moves the rest of your energy use onto electricity — which is where the solar array starts to matter a great deal more.

Heat-loss survey first

A room-by-room MCS heat-loss calculation. If your fabric or emitters aren't ready, we'll say so rather than sell you a pump that underperforms.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme

Eligible English and Welsh homes can claim a £7,500 government grant towards an air-source heat pump — we handle the application with your MCS-certified installation partner.

0% VAT

Heat-pump installs carry the same 0% VAT relief as solar and storage until 31 March 2027.

Sized with your solar

We model pump demand against your generation profile, so the two systems are designed as one, not bolted together later.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant levels and eligibility are set by government and can change — we confirm the current position at survey.
